Upgrades in Merge Pixel
Idle coins earned from your existing characters can be spent on four key upgrades. Item Forge Level raises the level of spawning characters, giving you a path toward unlocking all 80 characters faster. Item Forge Rate shortens the roughly six-second spawn interval down to as little as five seconds. Double Chance increases the odds of two identical higher-level characters appearing together, making merges easier to line up. Level Up Chance increases the odds that a newly spawned item appears one level higher than normal, effectively giving you a head start on your next merge.
Unlock New Characters
Merging two identical characters automatically creates the next character in the mythological line, and with 80 characters total there's a long unlock chain to work through — from early names like Timophanes, Nairos, and Eukrestes up through Daimos, Kairos, and Rhodos and beyond. Because every character on your board also produces idle income, chasing higher-level merges pays off twice: once for progress toward the full roster, and once for your ongoing coin generation.
Tips for Winning at Merge Pixel
Keep your board from filling up with low-level duplicates — merge on sight whenever a match is available rather than letting characters pile up, since a full board can block new spawns. Invest early upgrade coins into Item Forge Rate so characters spawn faster, then shift toward Double Chance and Level Up Chance once your board has enough space to make matching easier. Periodically check which characters are earning the most idle coin and try to keep at least one high-level version of them on your board at all times.
