Matching and Combos
Every match in Fruit Match starts with clicking a group of three or more identical fruits touching each other on the shelf, which makes them explode and score you points. Larger groups score better and, more importantly, trigger the game's power-up system: a four-fruit combo earns you a Bomb that clears out the fruits surrounding it, while a five-fruit combo grants a special Jolly fruit that removes every remaining fruit of that same kind from the board and adds extra time for each one destroyed. Chaining combos back to back is the fastest way to rack up a high score before time expires.
Power-Ups and Bonus Time
Three distinct bonuses keep Fruit Match from feeling repetitive. The Bomb, earned from a 4-fruit combo, clears a cluster of nearby fruits in one click, helping you dig out of a cluttered board. The Jolly fruit, earned from a 5-fruit combo, wipes every matching fruit type off the shelf at once and refunds bonus seconds for each one cleared, making it the single most valuable tool for extending a strong run. On top of these earned bonuses, matches occasionally drop a random Hourglass bonus that adds a few precious extra seconds to your countdown.
Beating the Clock
Your score and remaining time are both displayed at the bottom of the screen throughout the round, with the full board of fruits laid out above. Because the timer only ever moves in one direction, prioritizing larger combos over small, quick matches usually pays off — a single well-placed 5-fruit match can be worth more in both score and time than several small 3-fruit clears strung together.
Tips for Higher Scores
- Scan the whole board for 4 or 5-fruit clusters before clicking, since triggering a Bomb or Jolly early sets up a stronger chain of follow-up matches.
- Prioritize clearing the fruit type with the most pieces on the board when you have a Jolly available, since it removes every matching piece at once.
- Don't waste time hunting for the perfect match — a quick 3-fruit clear is often better than letting the clock run down while searching for something bigger.
