Building Words from Limited Letters
Every level in Word Connect gives you a small handful of letters — for example E, C, K, R, S, and A — and a set of blank tiles waiting to be filled. You can only use letters that appear on the board, and only as many times as they're available, so a word like "Say" is impossible if there's no Y in the set. Hold down the mouse button and trace across the letters in order to spell out a word, then release to submit it and see if it fits one of the blanks.
Using Hint, Letter, and Word Boosts
When a puzzle has you stuck, Word Connect offers three limited-use tools to help. The Hint option gives you a short description of a hidden word, similar to a game of Taboo, leaving you to work out the actual answer. The Letter option reveals a single letter within one of the unsolved words, narrowing down your guesswork. The Word option is the most powerful, instantly revealing an entire word on the board — useful when you're truly out of ideas, but best saved for the toughest puzzles.
Tips for Winning at Word Connect
Start by identifying short, common words first — three and four-letter words are usually easier to spot and often use up letters you need to isolate for longer words later. Pay attention to the number of blank tiles in each row, since that tells you exactly how long the word you're looking for needs to be. Save your Hint, Letter, and Word boosts for levels where you've genuinely run out of ideas rather than using them early, since they're limited and harder puzzles later on will need them more.
